Me and he went on many tours on exchange program and hence share some wonderful memories togather. Did I mentioned that hee taught me the greatest art of all, cooking. We have been to some really mindblowing places ;). Although he is 4 years elder to me, he always tried to be a good friend and advisor. Always helps a person in need and is always responsible about his career and his relations. And the first one to get the job in my fren's circle. Hope you will be happy forever.

The OGIEC is actually kind of an introvert who likes to keep matters to himself and shares information only with people he wants to and when he wants to. :) An enterprising athlete - good at long distance running, hockey and football and my mentor at sports in IIMC. His last minute injury almost forced him to opt out of STEP but I am glad he came through. We had an amazing time on STEP together.. with the road trip in Greece and the pizza land adventure being the high points of my eurotrip. His cooking skills are exemplary and I was treated to a multitude of Biryanis when I was craving for Indian food on STEP.

Though being a slacker at studies, I could manage a good set of grades due to his tutoring at the last minute before exams. A fin-enthusiast, his summers in Bangalore must have been satisfying both on his professional and personal levels. His non-platonic endeavours with the fairer-sex both in and outside the college have been a constant topic of discussion among us. Except when it comes to sports, he is a lazy bum with any outbound activity and is the only person I know who has slept in every movie we have gone to watch in a theatre. Obviously this testimonial is for the sake of writing a testimonial and I know we'll be in touch all along and hope to laugh about this in the distant future.

25 random things about me...

I was tagged by many to write 25 random things about me...well to get rid of my writer's block..I will give it a try
In this one I'm going to reveal the darker side of me as well..so read it with a broad mind..and don’t jump into any conclusions.......cos I'm good :)

1)I'm an Aquarian

2)I am an egoist, but I try to be as modest as possible. I don't expect to be treated as special one..and be a cynosure ... but if some one acts smart in front of me taking advantage of my modesty I get really bad.

3)I am a GOD fearing person. Every day I get up, the first thing I do is look at the photo of GOD. I do pray whenever I visit some temple. My prayer is very short. I do it in my mother tongue, " Swamy ma amma nannu nu eppudu santhosha pettali" and thats it there ends the prayer. If I have to wait longer I repeat the same thing.

5)I believe am a strong willed person. I don't like to give up on anything. I will fail but not give up. That is one reason that made me discover the long distance athlete in me. Readers, I was the 2nd best long distance runner of my college.

6)I involve myself in many activities. I play football & hockey, and did play both in my under grad and even now. I'm part of the cultural events organizing teams. I'm part of many interest groups like trading, networking, adventuring etc.

7) I'm very well connected with people over net. I use orkut, linkedin, facebook, twitter, blip, youtube, blogger, digg, interscope and bloglog.

8)I'm very shy when it comes to talking to girls. I was never lucky in having a girl friend

9)In all the testimonials I got... ppl say that I have a good sense of humor, so I believe that..

10)Currently I'm in Bangalore and I miss my bike, speakers....

11)I have this hidden desire of becoming an actor..don't mind even if it's a villain or a supporting actor..:)

12)By the time I turn 40 I would like to set up an empire...a conglomerate of companies..yes obviously not alone..with some of my bestest friends...will drag them in.. :)

13)I lost 6 lakhs in one trade last year...took sometime to recover from the shock...from then I hardly did any trading. A big lesson learnt the harder way.

14)If all went well I would have made 12 lakhs out of it. I had a plan to set up a water bottling plant along with my friend with an initial investment of 50 lakhs.

15)I can speak Telugu, Hindi, English very fluently. Understand Tamil and speak a little. Can speak a little of Arabic and French. Currently learning Kannada and Bengali.I did a course in Japanese

16)I'm always ready to give free fundaes to anyone. I know there are a lot of people out there who have been victimised by my unsolicited tips/suggestions/ideas/advice

17)I once said that I'm secular by heart. Let me tell this. I used to love the Namaz(Salath) read out when I was there in Saudi. And many times I used to recite along with it.

18)I have this weakness, which is getting worse. I can't explain things in crisp. I'm so used to writing the long globe answers that I end up writing too much for even the silliest of the questions.

19)Don't even dare to ask me the story of the movie I watched. I will narrate the whole screenplay for u giving u the actual feel of the movie. I can't help it. I can't even cut it short.

20)I don't like to drink tea, coffee, milk and any fizz.

21)My academic interests are Mathematics, Statistics, Economics(lately discovered) and Finance.

22)My other interests are traveling, social networking, blogging, playing computer games and sketching.

23)In Hollywood I find Kiera Knightley and Scarlett Johansson very beautiful, In Tollywood I like Charmy :D..just recently..

24)Of the books I read some books which I really liked were Iacocca and Wings of Fire

25)Some movies which I can watch again and again without getting bored are Life is beautiful, Shawshank Redemption, Pursuit of Happyness, Sarfarosh…

Huh!.. 25 is too small a number to write about me. I wrote them randomly and there is no logical flow of the points.

Cricket,Profit from it.

Cricket has become a buzzword oflate so this is what I’ve got to say about this sick sport.
6 days to go for IPL, many people are eager to watch this, but am not one of them.
cricket is never my cup of tea. I hate the ads in between every over and even the fastest version of cricket I feel is very slow.I prefer to watch just highlights.

BCCI :O
In the last few days the attitude BCCI has shown pictures them as villains. Starting IPL as a reply to ICL,commercialsing the game and banning other media people in covering the facts.BCCI started IPL as a response to Essar backed ICL lead by Kapil. Till then there was no concept like this.

Why do we need IPL?
In IPL almost all players are the ones who are already representing their nations. So this is a bonus to them. Rich cricketers are becoming more richer. The gap between rich and poor is widening further :O.I read an article in TOI ,It seems our hockey and football players get 1000 a day whereas our cricketers get around a lakh during match days. so much difference :O

ICL vs IPL?
I feel ICL is doing a better job, They don’t have big players like those in IPL but they are doing some justice by encouraging budding cricketers and all those people whose lives got ruined because of politics.
But whatever may be the case cricket in recent times has got a lot of change in India. Our middle class families, who normally don’t take up sports as a career, can think of taking up cricket as a career in realizing their dreams.
But there are some disadvantages cos of the new forms of cricket
People will forget Ranji and Duleep trophies( till now people know atleast there exists something like that)
For other sports like Football ,Hockey which always faced step motherly treatment now the situation will be come still worse. No one will take up them as career as cricket is more lucrative
During cricket matches the productivity of people goes down(match time+post-mortem+predictions+highlights), now with this new IPL, we get more cricket more people waste a lot of time.

But why cricket?
Now the problem with other sports like Football and hockey.
It takes more money for playing the other sports. whereas cricket on other hand is played everywhere cos all you need is a ball and a bat.In football and hockey you need shoes, shin guard which are very important part of the sports.Next important thing is space. people play cricket even in rooms.
Finally cricket as they say is gentleman sport, in footer and hockey you may need to charge on some one,a lot of physical strength needed, which in general we Indians lack when compared to westerners. so all these add up to the interest in playing the sport. whenever a group of friends meet up they play cricket. Even in companies most of them tend to play cricket as it is not that tiring. We have TV channels dedicated for cricket. At times cricket is shown in almost all sports channels. Now people watch even U-19 matches ,thanks to our tv channels.
Now the other sports don’t receive funds from corporate, as well as lack encouragement from govt, because of which they don’t perform that well in the international arena, now again because they dont perform well they don’t get encouragement. Recent disaster in Hockey India didn’t qualify in Olympics.. So it becomes a vicious circle. If this continues then there will be no takers for the other sports. Already many people are dropping out. Viren Rasquinha left hockey for MBA.. may be it is his hidden desire. But definitely our current scenario of sports would have encouraged him to look out for alternate career.
The other sports should be encouraged at all levels. I mean schools, colleges, companies and societies. Govt should guarantee jobs and provide financial support both to the players and the boards.

New aspect of cricket
Cricket was religion a few years back now it is business. The day will come when the cricket clubs will be listed on NSE. Already we have new businessmen like Shahrukh and Preity Zinta who started this and many new ones joining them like Mithun Chakraborthy,Juhi Chawla,Akshay Kumar etc.Shahrukh publically stated that he is purely into business. These people are not interested in doing some good. They are just interested in the ROI.

Risks
With the clubs being named after cities this could create regionalism among people effecting national integrity
Ricky Ponting will practice more with Ishant :D who has been a surprise package in the last Australian series and it will become more difficult for Ishant to take his wicket unlike in that series.

Cricket and me
Personally i hate cricket not because of any of the above reasons. I am a terrible batsman. I can never connect the ball with the bat. Always touches by fluke . And when I go for bowling the batsmen break records. I always preferred to play football and hockey. Readers I take this as an opportunity to tell you all that I represented my college in Athletics and was a long distance runner.
