A Forgotten Radiation

From time immemorial we have seen so many scams in India..and I dont know the exact reason...either our memory is short-lived or there are too many of them..that we forget one scam the moment a new scam crops up...

 

But one such scam that has certainly shaken the whole of the nation.. doubting credibility of even the mighty Tatas, synonym to ethics...is the

 

2G scam..

 

And one personality who from nowhere became star overnight..

 

Niira Radia...

 

Who is Niira Radia?

"Nira Radia is the owner of Vaishnavi Corporate Communications Pvt. Ltd.The company works in corporate communication and liaison related things. Neera born in Kenya but moved to London in 1970.She did her schooling from elite Haberdashers’ Aske’sin northern London. She graduated from University of Warwick. She married with UK businessman of Gujrati origin Janak Radia. They divorced soon. Nira started her career in liaison with Sahara. Later she became India representative of Singapore Airlines, KLM, UK Air. She built her strong contacts among media,politics and corporate" [Source : Nira Radia]

Where was Radia placed during her heydays?

That shows her accessibility level with politicians, corporates and beauracrats.

The company Vaishnavi CCPL is as expected shelved now. Surprisingly their website shows that it is under construction.

The other company Neosis Strategic Consulting Services is also shelved out and their website is no more. You can read the team profile, our Radia has been an entrpreneur for 25 years

So what is she upto now?

Radia comes out of oblivion .. she's back with another firm..but certainly away from publicity..this one is in consultancy [one most abused term in the world :)]

Out of curiosity I digged into the website, to check out on how she has positioned herself in this new website.







From no angle it seemed to me a
geniune consulting firm..or may be they are still developing it as they have safely put on top left corner that this website is also under construction.

Worst of all there are no career options :O.. I wanted to see the careers section ;P

I dont know if this new business of hers rakes any moolah for her ..but it will definitely help her to use the loads of cash stashed in Swiss banks.. for the records she has the highest account balance..more than Rajiv Gandhi :O

 

 

 

 

Amidst this chaos of scams...one industry which never misses out any opportunity is the Bollywood..
there are movies inspired by Radia...and hotties [so called..] are elated to take her role..only Radia can tell if she also feels the same :O

Titanic

I've got the Google Earth downloaded in my laptop and was browsing through curiously and then this thing caught my attention.

I was surprised to see the Titanic Ship.

 

RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City, US. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,502 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in modern history. I am amazed by the features in Google Earth, brings the whole world on to your desktop. Very useful tool to plan travel.

If at all there is anyone in this world who will be thanking GOD the most for having google , it would be our beloved Terrorists. They can now execute their missions with more accuracy.

Monemvasia - an exotic destination

I would like to dedicate my 200th post to Monemvasia...It's a place not known to many in this world...but a memorable one atleast for the three of us [Swad, Venky & Yours truly]. For more details about the place click on the wiki link

The route map; Swadheen is the man, who drove all the way single handedly. I really wonder now how he managed to do that feat then. I couldnt appreciate it then as I never drove a car before. Now that I drive my own car, I feel it was one hell of a drive. It is definitely not so simple as it seems from the map.
Our itinerary was like this
1) Nafplio to Tripoli
2) Tripoli to Sparta
3) Sparta to Aeropolis (via Githeo) 
4) Aeropolis to Githeo
5) Githeo to Monemvasia
6) Monemvasia to Olympia [most difficult part as it went through one of the most dangerous ghat roads in the world but Swad pulled it off coolly]
7)Olympia to Nafplio

King of good times is....Dinged

Kingfisher started its operations in the year 2005, this was the time when I just started working and  flying was a dream for me [Read this post].

KF was the premium airline, and I used to yearn to fly by KF [company sponsored flight travels :p] As per our Company policy, one was supposed to inform the preferred time of journey to the travel team and depending on that the cheapest flight was booked. I used to check out the KF flight timings and ensure that there was no other cheaper flight around and inform that to our travel people :)



It was the only airline then in India, which used to offer in-flight entertainment, in-flight phone service, on-screen demo[ by Yana Gupta] etc. With all that glamor it was the most sought out airline, atleast for free riders like me :P. It was well known for its air-hostesses draped in the red-colored tight dresses..making them hotter..

KF boasts of being awarded the best airline in Asia Pacific and blah blah..etc. From that heights of success it nosedived and crash landed...becoming almost extinct
 ..all that happened in a span of 7 years...


The ticket counters are closed at all airports and the online bookings are suspended [ Chek Website ]

There's a JOKE doing the rounds on the internet which goes like this "Kingfisher birds are evaluating the possibility of a class-action suit against flamboyant Indian businessman Vijay Mallya, for spoiling their name and reputation"

So what exactly went wrong with KF??

This TATA Winger rammed into my vehicle yesterday.The driver of the vehicle is seen meddling with his phone, while I took this snap. His front bumper and right side head light got damaged

 

Luckily there was no major damage to my car but the TITANIUM logo got damaged.

This incident happened at the junction after CROMA retail near Madhapur Police Station.

And the time has finally arrived to say bye bye to Mumbai.....This was my second innings and was much shorter than the earlier one...I knew it would happen some day..but never thought I would get out so early..nevertheless this one was definitely more eventful owing to all the twists and turns in my life..

I said in my last post that ..I am looking for a change..now I am changing my place...my job(not a farmer job though...)
and there's one more thing I will have to change...which I realized just this evening...

This evening as usual I walked into this Amul store for buying curd.. there was a kid having ice-cream.. I was standing next to the kid waiting for my turn... After sometime of wait..I felt this kid was staring at me..so I looked at him..he was staring at me, mouth agape..I was surprised and looked into his eyes straight..and that's it...he started crying loudly.."mummy"... now I was scared of getting beaten by his parents...

I quickly moved away from that place..grabbed my curd and vanished...this reminds me of a scene which happened a few years back...where a kid jumped on to me...calling me "daddy!"(read this post "Beware of Kids" posted by me)... this incident was total opposite to that one.

..readers please dont think that...I try to be a prick towards kids.. am generally sweet towards them...this one got scared looking at my avatar..

and so comes the early realization that I need to look civilized...else I will be disowned by my loved ones also...


There's one thing I will definitely miss in Mumbai.. that is this pigeon which lives in my balcony..you can see the pigeon at the top corner of the shutter in the balcony... that's its sleeping spot..every night it settles exactly at that point..sleeps silently...even when I take a walk..or talk on phone in the balcony..it just stays still..
I'll really miss this flatmate..

With loads of memories..some haunting ones..some pleasant ones..I depart

The trip to Greece - Part IV

Recap

Part I - It all started like this  , Nice to Greece, which covered the journey from Nice to Ancona and the encounter with the Police there

Gufaa - you will never get lost

Last night I've been to a restaurant called Gufaa (cave) managed by Ohri's. It is in the heart of the city at Basheerbagh, Hyderbad. Three of us(Me,Swad and Gtalk) went to this place. As the name goes by, the place had the look and feel of a cave. The waiters were dressed like some forest guards to make you feel it, as an adventurous experience. Kids will love this place, they would be excited with the look and feel. The dim lights and the old hindi classic music makes it an excellent ambience for having food.

Coming to the main part, the food. We ordered for Tawa Corn, Pathar ka Gosht, Prawn fry, Harabhara biryani and Mix nonveg biryani. I loved the biryani a lot. One should definitely have the biryani. After a long time I had something like a real biryani.The prices were slightly at the higher side but sometimes we should pay little premium for the service quality. Overall it was really great. A nice place for get-togethers.

Dreams - can anyone beat me on that!

Well readers, Endhiran (Robot) releases today and it is supposed to the most costliest movie in Asia. Supposedly the last movie of Rajnikanth. It has all winning combination in it..RajniKanth, Shankar(my fav), A R Rahman(my fav)..and yea of course Aishwarya. So totally a power packed film. They seem to have marketed it aggressively because it is talked about in every other channel. Whatever be it this movie will seem more logical to me unlike his other movies [stunts will be no different from any other movie]..because he is robot in this movie (so it makes it credible :D).

Ok now coming to the actual story of this post...you may not know this..that.. even I was a movie actor..yes you read it correctly.....
